About Us

AIM

Our priority as a club is to encourage anyone interested in Triathlon, to train and to prepare for races in a fun and friendly atmosphere.

EFTC has about 50 members with varying degrees of fitness and race experience. The club coaches (graded Level 1- 3) help members improve their running, swimming and cycling by providing advice, coaching, supported by the experience of other members.

HISTORY

The club was founded in September 1996 following the inaugural running of the first East Fife Triathlon in April 1996. a group of 8 people (some still involved with the club) got together with the Sports Development Officer in the area to set up East Fife Tri Club. Initially based at the East Sands Leisure Centre the club recently moved to Cupar Sports Centre, mainly to accommodate the increasing numbers of members who were attending the swimming sessions.

Throughout the years many people have come and gone but there is a core of people who have been members for many years. The club is proud to boast many successes including Scottish Sprint, Standard and Middle distance Champions, British Championship medallists, a World Age Group Champion, and has had 2 members qualify for what is often seen as the 'Ultimate Dream' for triathletes the World Ironman Championships in Kona Hawaii. We have members (male and female) who have raced in Ironman competitions around the world and have had people compete in the notorious ‘Escape from Alcatraz’ race, as well as many other competitions.

However whether you want to compete at the highest level or the local novice race the club is happy to welcome you and help you achieve your goal.
